The Brief

Our clients engaged DeCelisGreen ahead of their return to Mosman after several years living overseas and interstate. During that time, their historic Victorian residence had been tenanted and required thoughtful preparation before once again becoming their family home.

With an approved Development Application (DA) already in place for a more substantial future renovation, the immediate focus was not transformation but revival, bringing the home back to life through a series of considered cosmetic updates, essential maintenance works, and the construction of new decking to enhance outdoor living. Larger works were intentionally deferred, allowing the family to settle in comfortably while planning the home's next evolution.

The priority was clear. Rejuvenate the interiors, enhance everyday liveability, and restore the warmth and refinement expected of a residence of this significance.

Working to an immovable relocation timeline, the clients required a trusted team on the ground to manage every detail, without the stress of coordinating trades or making decisions remotely.

The Strategy

With a long term vision already established through the approved DA, our role was to focus on the works that would deliver immediate impact while complementing, not compromising, the future plans for the property.

We identified a targeted scope designed to refresh rather than reinvent, elevating the home's overall feel through cosmetic improvements, preventative maintenance, and careful attention to the finer details that collectively transform how a home is experienced. The addition of new decking strengthened the connection between the home and its gardens, creating inviting spaces for family living and entertaining.

Acting as our clients' local representative, we coordinated trades, managed schedules, and ensured every element met the standard befitting a residence of this calibre. Just as importantly, we approached the project through the lens of returning home. After years away, it was essential that the property felt calm, familiar, and effortlessly liveable, not like a house awaiting further attention.
